Commisioned by as a gift for -- the latter's character Duke, the scientist half of a crime scene investigating duo, in his lab office.

The stuff on the blackboard is: A crime scene ("Blunt object" "No fingerprints?"), the equation and diagram for blood spatters, and, up in the upper right, something drawn by Adlai, the other half of the duo.
He has a pack of cigarrettes in his pocket.
The paper on his clipboard is a coroner's report. (That particular one is Elvis Presley's... it was the first one I could find, lol!)
